We are using thunderbird as main mailer in our office. We share one google mail account with multiple users through thunderbird.

At first, thunderbird was working ok untill more than 5users share the account through the mailer. However, as we the workers start increase and more people start share the account, thunderbird began to stop working. Therefore, only five of the members use thunderbird, and others cannot use it.*non-thunderbird users check e-mail through browser. However, it is very inconvenient for us since thunderbird's direction marks(like reply marks) does not show up, when I reply from the browser.

Then, I want to know how I can use one google account with multiple members without stopping through thunderbird.

By the way, I am non-native so if you do not get what I am saying, let me know.

Thank you.

google limits the number of connections on a per user basis. If you are using multiple users on a single account, then you could be screwed, because by default thunderbird has up to 5 open connections to the google server for each user instance. see http://tinyurl.com/larao3j

It MAY help if you limit the number of connections coming from thunderbird. Perhaps start by setting it to 3. See http://kb.siteground.com/how_to_change_max_number_of_imap_connections_in_thunderbird/

Hopefully it should help. Please reply to let us know.

Thank you for the reply.

I am happy if you can answer me one more question.

Is it means less numbers of people are available to use the account when limit the number of connection from 5 to 3, which is coming from thunderbird. If so, I understand that less people can use the account through thunderbird with higher speed than 5 connections. If it is available, I want to share the account more than five people through thunderbird.

Thank you.
