Ever since updating to version 28.0.1 I can no longer use the top close button to close a website. I have to go to the site in the task bar and then close it or close Firefox with task manager!

Is this a close button on a tab or the button to close the current window (i.e. the close button that is part of minimize, maximize, close)?

Can you close the tab with a middle-click with the mouse scroll wheel on the tab?

It is the main close button on the top right of the screen that does not work (the close button that is part of minimize, maximize, close). It happens in a link website ie. the firefox forum that I am in now.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by; Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.
