Can't get rid of Make Yahoo My Homepage screen

more options

I downloaded Avast & Malwarebytes, ran them, then deleted them. Avast downloaded Chrome automatically. I deleted that but It changed my homepage from Yahoo to something else. I got the homepage back to Yahoo but every time I call it up, another screen saying "To Make Yahoo Your Homepage Do This". I do what it says but the To Make page comes up every time Yahoo home page comes up. I tried redoing Firefox but that does not help. Assistance would be appreciated.

  1. Go to about:config page.
  2. Search for browser.startup.homepage change its value to:
    • about:home – default.
    • about:blank – blank page.
    • about:newtab – new tab page.
    • URL – an url of one page that you want.
  3. Or search for browser.startup.page change its value to:
    • 0 - start with a blank page (about:blank).
    • 1 - start with the web page(s) defined as the home page(s). (Default)
    • 2 - load the last visited page.
    • 3 - resume the previous browser session.
  4. Or How to set the home page
