How do I stop FF from closing when I close the last tab?

FF used to go to my home page, bookmarks, something else when I closed the last tab in the window. Since I restored FF the window closes when I close the last tab. Thought I might find something in add-ons but just got lost in all that are available.

Chosen solution

You can set the browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab pref to false on the about:config page.

  • about:config page: browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
