Hi! In Ubuntu installed version 24 of Firefox, and there does not work HTML5. For example, at the site http://audiobook-online.com/?page_id=3595 files are played, but at the browser on Ubuntu only visible inscription "Download."

Why Firefox developers do not deb file, which is installed by simply clicking on the file, as it did for example in Google Chrome?

It is the choice of Ubuntu to offer you a special branded version via their repositories that needs updating via the repositories and that can take time to get the latest version or you may stay with an older (ESR) version if updating stops. I always install a version from the Mozilla server to control updating myself as their is no need to use that version (OpenSUSE that I use also comes with such a version).

You can get the .deb and .rpm packages from your Linux distro which would likely be more compatible anyways and not have dependancy issues.

Hi! alex, I found this link very useful to install Firefox 32 in the ubuntu14.04. I could give the instructions to install Firefox here but I am scared of the long message.

Actually tar.bz2 files are zipped files in ubuntu as .zip in windows and you have to extract that file to install Firefox!
