Since the update to FF 32.0.2 on my Mac the mouse starts flickering when moving over the screen. It seems as if this flickering is related to the underlaying HTML Structure. It occurs on all websites, so no specific site related issue is detected. Until the update to 32.0.2 (this morning) no flickering occured.

Chosen solution

Without any logical reason, the issue is gone. I haven't updated anything (except Twitter) since Sept. 19th. So, Issue is gone. Solution: No Idea. Magic

Does this also happen in Safe Mode?

Does this happen after you update the drivers?

more options

Yes, it also happen in Safe Mode and the OS is on the latest update Level. What seems to be weird is, that the mouse-pointer flickers because it changes from (i.E.) an arrow to an arrow with a shadow. Same happens from a vertikal bar to an arrow with a shadow. Maybe I should completely remove firefox and start a fresh install. I have created two video sequences. One with the behavior https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0Mhhr3WYfuFcDZYLUg5REtYWjQ/view?usp=sharing and another one with the above mentioned arrow-icon switch to shadowed-arrow. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0Mhhr3WYfuFdDBjcnFxa2JtSVk/view?usp=sharing

I tested a complete new install (removed Firefox folder from ~/Library). Same behavior than before (flickering still occurs). Also updated to 32-0-3 meanwhile. No changes.

In the past, a java update fixed that same flickering.

The items that are not disabled in Safe Mode are extensions and hardware acceleration. Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL may be helpful here.

Thanks @guigs2 for the hints. Unfortunately nothing helped. Java is on the latest version (1.7.0_67-b01). Also switching the Hardware-Accelaration to "off" and webgl.disabled to true doesn't help to get rid of the flickering mouse-pointer. Right now I have no idea what motivates the mouse-pointer to change and jump around.
