Is there any plan for Firefox to support FIDO U2F security keys for 2-factor authentication, like the Chrome browser does now?

I am a long-time Firefox user. Today I just read about FIDO U2f security keys, a USB dongle that supports 2-factor authentication. It is supported by Chrome, but apparently no other browsers. Seems promising, and I wonder if there is any plan to provide Firefox support for these keys.
