Itried to install Thunderbird. It asked for a password. I gave it one but it seemed to want one which it knew and I didn't. Can I get a new one?
I used to use Outlook Express but my new computer has Windows Livemail which I find very unsatisfactory. A friend recommended Thunderbird. I was getting on well with installing it. Then it asked for my email address which I gave and a password so I gave it one. But as I said above it kept saying that was wrong. I've had this email address for a very long time ever since we first got Broadband. Is it possible that there's a password attached to it that I never knew. Anyway, could I be given a new password to solve this problem as I'm truly fed up with Windows Livemail and anxious to try Thunderbird. Thank you for any help you can give.

If you want a new email password you are going to have to ask your email provider. They administer email accounts. Thunderbird has nothing to do with your email password.

Contacted my provider Virgin and they set up the same password as I've always had which was then accepted and they managed to complete installing Thunderbird for me. Thanks
