I have encountered an unusual printing problem specific to Firefox on a computer attached to a home LAN. The printer(s) concerned is attached to another computer attached to the same LAN. When I try to print from Firefox, I get an attempt to print followed by the simple error message "The document failed to print." If I reset the print_printer using about:config the printing works....... once..... and then reverts to not printing. I tried also to check the prefs.js file to remove the print_printer lines after resetting in about:config, but there were no stray print_print lines anymore. The strange thing about this is it ONLY occurs from Firefox.. which is FYI v37.0.2, and has been refreshed , as well as completely reinstalled after this problem manifested itself... only to find it reappearing... Any suggestions?? By the way, this is being presented to you from a different computer.. and the version will not be the same.. I run Nightly.....

Can you tell me any relevant info you might want... other than the version, and W7 Pro x64, Athlon64 X2 5200+, 3gig ram...  ???

Since you are running Nightly, it may be best to proceed in a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org. The forums are for troubleshooting the release version mostly. It may be that the stored profile for the printer can be changed, try the Advanced Options when you Print the next item.

Perhaps if the question was read better it would be noted that I sent the request from a computer running Nightly, but the problem was on a computer running Firefox...... And I have already tried all the various options as described above. The only reason I mentioned Nightly was because when proceding with the error report , the detection of the version was for my computer, not the one with the problem. guigs2 said
