How do I fix Firefox Sync Error that keeps popping up everytime I refresh the browser
I keep getting incorrect user name or password. Even if I sign in, I still get the message.
Chosen solution
Thanks for all the support. Here is what I did to remedy the problem: I followed guigs suggestions. I deleted the account, but the pop up error message came back. I had to change from private mode to remember history. I then went into security to keep the firefox account info. I changed the privacy settings back to custom allowing search form and history and 3rd party cookies to be saved and tell sites I do not want to be tracked. If I am signing into another separate account, I get the question do you want to remember password and say 'no' for all others except firefox. Before leaving firefox, I clear out all info except active logins. I've used this browser for years and have never had a problem. I really hope they fix this issue in further updates. I hope this helps another in need. Thanks again for those who responded.

Hi prp255, I understand that when you restart Firefox that you receive an invalid username and password error. To remedy this please try the following steps if you are set up to use Firefox sync:
- Click on the Firefox menu and click on the username that is listed at the bottom of that menu
- The about:preferences#sync tab will open up.
- Click on remove account
- Restart Firefox
- Navigate to accounts.firefox.com and log in from there.
If you have the feature to remove all session and cookie information on quiting Firefox, this will log you out. However if the original error message continues remove this file from your profile folder: logins.json (WARNING removing this file will log you out of everything you have accessed in Firefox, don't do it if you want this to happen)
If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
