Firefox is redirecting my homepage to a 404 while no other browser does.

My homepage is set to http://www.elevateschool.com Any time I open Firefox or try to visit this page while Firefox is open, I am redirected to a 404 (http://www.elevateschool.com/pics/index_divider.png) and cannot access the page I need to access most. No other browser on my machine is doing this; they all just go to elevateschool.com.

Can you help, please? I have searched all over for a solution and I have checked the box in Preferences>Advanced>General that says "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" but this has done nothing to change the situation. Thanks

hi, you could try to clear the cache & cookies from the site and reload the page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
