If I'm in tablet mode, with or without keyboard detached, and try to enter text in eg a search field, no keyboard appears (as would be expected, and as happens in other programs).

Nor is there any way to select one.

There is a bug report (Bug 1007063) about this, marked as resolved/fixed. But I'm still getting it!

What is the situation with this?

thanks Andrew

hi andrew, bug 1007063 will be fixed in upcoming firefox 42, which is a beta version right now - if you want you can download it right now from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#beta

as a workaround you could also right-click the windows 10 taskbar and set the icon for the onscreen-keyboard to display there - then you can at least invoke it manually...
