how to remove first visit suggestion on drop down list

more options

On the search bar, the suggestion drop list shows up with the first line "Visit xxxx"...this looks like a virus link/spam/ad link by firefox. I am guessing the actual link is not checked and could lead the user to a virus website? plus takes up valuable vertical screen space...very annoying! How do I remove this line ever showing up?

That's a new feature in Firefox 43. To turn it off do this:

  1. Go to about:config in Firefox
  2. Click the I'll be careful button
  3. Locate the browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete boolean
  4. Change the value to false

Note: You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.
