Firefox and Windows XP
I don't know how long Firefox will support Windows XP. I'm not aware of any planned changes that would force Firefox to stop working on Windows XP.
As you may know, Firefox needs Microsoft's Media Foundation components to play MP4 videos, but those were never released for XP. This gap is unlikely to be filled, so you may need Flash and/or VLC and even with those plugins, videos on some sites may not work without some "hacks" on XP.
Firefox is just a web browser, not an email service or email program, so what you see in a browser window is what you get. There is no spam protection in Firefox, that would need to be provided by your mail service.
On the more general question of AOL and Verizon, what happens to your accumulated email depends on where it is now and where you plan to move it. Are you using a stand-alone email program like Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Outlook Express, etc.?
