This problem has been plaguing me forever! I cannot use my tablet in conjunction with a desktop useragent string while using Facebook.com!

It will type all jumbled up, screw up words, add it's own words and characters whenever it sees fit, mostly after hitting the space bar. It's especially annoying when I try to use the @Name Here to insert a clickable link of a page or someone's username.

Look at my screenshot and you'll see what it's doing, the only thing I was doing there was typing normally, look at all the crap that went along with it. I've tested this with all my soft keyboard options like auto punctuation and auto correct turned off and on, same problem and no effect. Please help me narrow this down once and for all, I would like to be able to use facebook.com in desktop view mode, not mobile. Thankyou so much for your time! Helpppppp!

Hi PenTech Services!

Thanks for using FireFox for Android! Welcome to Mozilla Suport! I am using FireFox for Android version 47 on a phone and it works great - there are no issues when writing comments on Facebook. Can you confirm that you are using version 47 (the most recent update) by typing in the address bar "about:"? You are looking for 3 numbers at the top left hand corner of the display.

Best regards,

This problem persists no matter what version of FF is used.

But yes, I'm using the latest. And I've tried beta & nightly as well.

I didn't want to do this, but, I've uninstalled Firefox and completely removed it out of sheer frustration. This issue is non existent in Chrome.

Can you let me know what version of Android you are running and visit the Play Store to check for updates?

Yep.

Here are my details.

Is this the only website giving you this issue?

more options

Yep, just facebook.com.

It's got something to do with the way the comments thingy on facebook.com works in conjunction with my desktop useragent string setting and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 SM-T330NU soft keyboard. However, I shut off auto correct and auto punctuation and it's still an issue, it seems though like the keyboard is all screwy with the way facebook inputs text in its comments areas.

I've also tried other soft keyboards to no avail. Still slow, buggy, jittery, and adds characters randomly.

Is soft keyboard a modification to the default keyboard?

Might be the way Facebook handles text input in their code. At this point, I recommend talking to Facebook about it here: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/268228883256323
