How to have Thunderbird place proposed ics events on calendar automatically?

Events that are proposed to me in email (.ics) attachment do not appear as proposed events on calendar. The only way to update the calendar seems to be to go through each email and manually look for calendar events and accept them.

Is there any way to have the proposed events automatically extracted from the email and place on the calendar for acceptance or rejection in the calendar view (sort of the way outlook works....)?

This is the way it works.
