I did a system restore then kept getting message XPCOM (I have laptop Win 7). The uninstalled present version and tried to reinstall but it keeps asking for administrator details. I put them in but nothing happens. I REALLY want Firefox back as I don't like Chrome and it has lost all my bookmarks! Please advise on how to reinstall or fix present version (I did another system restore and got uninstalled version back and it still gives XPCOM message). Janet

Hi Janet, try downloading a full installer for Firefox 49.0.1, and when you run it, do NOT run it as an administrator:

The following page lists the installers; scroll down to your preferred language. For maximum plugin compatibility, choose the regular Windows 32-bit version (the 64-bit version doesn't allow Java, VLC, or most other plugins, just Flash and Silverlight).

BRILLIANT!! Thanks SO much. I've got it back at last. I can now delete Chrome which I find difficult to use. I really appreciate your help -and so quick too. I'm one happy bunny here!
