created several folders and subfolders in LOCAL, and when looking in Win Explorer some show up as folders while others show up as files and I'd like to know why
I created several folders and subfolders in LOCAL. When looking at them in Win Explorer some show up as folders (.sbd) while others show up as two files (one with extension .msf and the other with no extension) with the same name. The sizes are usually different.
Why would some be this-way and others be that-way?
Chosen solution
Let's use an example folder in Thunderbird I going to call "Stuff".
On the hard drive, there will be a file called "Stuff" that has no file extension, and another called "Stuff.msf". The file with no file extension contains all the e-mail in that folder. The "Stuff.msf" file contains an index Thunderbird uses to keep track of what is in the file "Stuff".
A folder called "Stuff.sbd" will be created on your hard drive if in Thunderbird you create folders under the "Stuff" folder.
So let's say you create a folder called "Work" under the folder called "Stuff".
Then on the hard drive, you will see two files under "Stuff.sbd". They will be "Work" and "Work.msf".

Amazing ... Everything is hard, until you know how to do it.
THANKS!
