I have Windows 7 Home Premium/ SP 1 on my computer. 64-bit.

Firefox 52.0.1 (32-bit).

Should I have a 64 bit Firefox? (Just noticed this).

At any rate - My system freezes up pretty much daily, ESPECIALLY when streaming video.

I've got Adobe Flash Player 25 NPAPI (32-bit). 25.0.0.148 "Programs and Features" on my computer shows this as my only Flash Player.

The system will freeze as far as all keyboard controls. The video sound will continue, at least for a bit (buffered, I guess), and the flashing light on my computer indicating that the hard drive is working keeps flashing.

I seem to recall there used to be an Active X Flash Player also?

Could the 32 bit Firefox and Flash Player with my 64-bit system be the problem?

The 64bit Firefox is not always a big advantage, probably only worth considering as a definite advantage if you have at least 8GB of ram. How much RAM do you have installed?

Flash player is often a problem and many sites no longer use it or offer alternatives. Try disabling flash player on YouTube and watching their videos does the computer still freeze up then. (In fact temporarily disable FlashPlayer entirely to make sure it is not running from another tab)

  • Disable flash player from Menu => Add-ons => Plugins then find FlashPlayer and set it to never activate
  • See Disable or remove Add-ons

If you do have problems try to note are they ONLY when FlashPlayer is enabled and in use ?

Then try to figure out is it all sites or only some sites that cause problems.

We may need to consider reviewing your multi process settings or other factors but I will wait for your reply to this first of all.
