After update, read messages vanish (not deleted) when I leave T-Bird.

Using Win XP, T-Bird 45.8.0 After most recent update read e-mails vanish (Hidden?) when I leave and come back to T-bird. This is a real problem for Doctors appointments, orders places to Amazon, E-Bay, or others. T-Bird did not do this two months ago. Apparently T-Bird believes that if I read an E-Mail, Then I don't need to see it ever again - This is not true for me. Today I had to make telephone calls to confirm the times of two funerals I need to attend as a choir member. H E L P If I want it deleted Then let ME delete it.

I'd guess you have accidentally enabled a filter that shows only unread email messages.

Places to look:

Menu View|Folders|All View|Threads|All

Quickfilter Bar make sure the "show unread" button isn't selected make sure the text search box is empty

Mail Tool Bar If you have the Mail Views tool installed, make sure that it is set to "All".

I'd guess you have accidentally enabled a filter that shows only unread email messages.

Places to look:

Menu View|Folders|All View|Threads|All

Quickfilter Bar make sure the "show unread" button isn't selected make sure the text search box is empty

Mail Tool Bar If you have the Mail Views tool installed, make sure that it is set to "All".

I do not know what cured the problem. BUT - your answer set me to searching first for the items you mentioned, then some more searching of the KB. I would not have gotten there if not for you so Thanks - live long and prosper. I appreciate your help. Rejoice with me for my missing files have returned.
