Added a new addon for firefox and it's just sat there 'verifying' for almost an hour, and it's still not installed the addon

Due to the new change to v57 of Firefox due to auto-update, some of my Legacy add-ons no longer work. I decided to change them for versions that where designed for v57. Clicking on 'add to firefox' it proceeds to download the addon and then verify it, however, this is where the problem lies. I have it stuck on the 'verifying' part for almost an hour now, without anything actually being installed. Frustrated at this, I clicked on 'cancel'. It seems to be happening with every addon that i try to replace, thus NONE of my addons have been replaced with versions compatable with V57. Is there any way I can install these without this happening?

Is this with all the new add-ons or a few? Which ones?

Try first removing the old ones, then close Firefox. Now install the new ones.
