Sometimes when I try to go to website my F-secure blocks the site I click allow anyway I am then asked if i want to allow the website to make changes to my computer *** (ALARMS GOING IN MY HEAD) I click no.. .as I just want to view the site

back to a loop that gets me nowhere

What is worrying is that obviously some sites do want to make changes to my computer... I Would Never Allow THAT and some times I want to view the site..but not allow changes

SO How do I view a website (or indeed all) without allowing changes to be made to my computer?

You could consider to disable User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 10 :

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.

You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.

Make sure all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

  • Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
  • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected

Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder.

My apologies

I did get to the compatability tab which offered me

Run compatability troubleshooter wahtever that is nothing else is selected in this box.

I wil play around with trying to find the Properties of the Firefox programme folder. But I'm not hopeful.

I perhaps misunderstand . I f I disable this feature then F-secure will not inform me when sites attempt to do things to my computer.... what I want F-secure to do is let me view sites and not allow anything to affect my computer in any way.

UAC is Microsoft. Though F-Secure may use that. This maybe a issue you should be posting in their forum for better security feedback. https://community.f-secure.com/t5/Help-Forums/ct-p/help-forums

All I want to do is view web pages I want to do this in a safe and secure manner so I do not want these web pages to access MY COMPUTER and I DO NOT want them to make any changes to my computer.

How do I do this please BTW I am not a computer tech or I would not be asking these questions sop please bear this in mind if you are kind enough to offer me a solution for safe browsing.

BTW

To the right side of the dialogue boxes like this one there is a little box which says DID THIS REPLY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM then underneath that is a little box that says Solved the problem.... I do not know why this is as the problem has most certainly not been solved.

The long and short of it is if F-Secure blocks it there is always another site like it that you will not have a issue with.

So you do what you wish to do, go or not go, do what F-Secure Suggests or not. Just always be prepared that F-Secure will not catch or Identify issues and has probably missed stuff already.
