I seem to have two e-mail accounts that att.net (run by Yahoo) can't seem to keep straight..... since the merger of att and directv everything has gone haywire..... the first account ( ten years old at least ) is dadamm@att.net. the second (and newer) account is dadamm4@att.net. The message I keep getting is "server" problem try again later. Att wants you to have ONE password for all their functions on their website: acct. info. wireless service, directv, and of course (lastly) e-mail. I've changed passwords till I can't think of any more, but T-bird keeps refusing to either get or (sometimes send) e-mail from the dadamm@att.net account..... It works on my phone but not my desktop HP Pavillon (64 bit) running Win7 home premium. It would be really neat if t-bird let you change the logon password(S) for e-mail providers, but once you create an e-mail you never see the password again.. What am I doing wrong ? Signed up for two other e-mail programs but don't want to lose the .att that have been using for ten years, and all the contacts that know me by that ID. ANY Help would be appreciated..... hate to have to change e-mail programs. Thanks

It would be really neat if t-bird let you change the logon password(S) for e-mail providers,

Thunderbird can't do that. The password isn't for Thunderbird, it's for your email account on the provider's server. In order to change your account password, you'll need to login to your account via a web browser.

but once you create an e-mail you never see the password again..

You can tell Thunderbird to remember the password for your account, so that you won't type it again every time it's needed.

You can try to delete any passwords Thunderbird has remebered for your account(s). At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Options > Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords

Thunderbird will then prompt you for the password the next time it's needed.
