I upgraded from version 47 to 56. The first persistant issue was crashing every single time I exited Firefox. The second issue is that I cannot see my video cache in the program I have been using for a long time, VideoCacheView. I noticed 3 Firefox files running with version 56, but not 47. These issues went away when I returned to version 47.

I am running Windows 8.1

Well the files you viewed from ver 56 should also be seen in the Task Manager and it is Firefox using Multi-core Processes. Prior to ver 54 Firefox used only 1 core. Using ne code for Multi-core Process enables Firefox to be faster and to use less ram. If look in Task Manager when running 56 and it is using insane amounts of ram then there is a issue and we can look into that or show you how to turn that off. As for the crashing you will have to reinstall version 56 and monitor and have issues https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support I suggest instead of reinstalling ver 56 go here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ for the full version installer (not stub installer) of 56.0.1

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks, I will try this. Seeing multiple files I did not know if this caused a crash.

How about my cached video files. I drop back to version 47 and I can see them in VideoCacheView but version 56 I do not see them. I contacted the programmer and he uses version 56 and can see them in his VideoCacheView. Wierd issue if his is fine and mine is not. What should I look for on this?

56.0.1 crashes when I shutdown. I previously sent the crash data to Mozilla.

You pasting that there does not work for us here. Please edit it out.

See you updated to version 56.0.1 from 56 Once we get Firefox working properly on your system you should see you cached files. Just got to get it working right.

I submitted the crash report and after a few chats we fixed it. It was a profile issue.

Now, I need to see my videos in cache, they are not there. I see them buffering, but they do not exist in wither the Firefox profile cache, temp folders or any Macromedia folders. Any clue? When I drop back to version 47 it is there, but in version 56 it is gone.

No..... Can you make a backup of that cache ? It must be done since it seems your having a Profile issue since fixed everything else.

This explains how to backup your profile : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data then remove and create a new profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

No idea how that will work with your cache and where or how to insert into the profile. So,,,,,if need help with that someone else will have to help you with more experience with Profiles.
