Chosen solution

Try a refresh:

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

The Tab in your screenshot has the normal width and thus isn't pined. That is why you see "Pin Tab" and not "Unpin Tab".

Note that if the tab isn't pinned that you see "Pin Tab" in the right-click context menu. Once you have pinned the current tab then "Pin Tab" changes to "Unpin Tab". A pinned tab has small fixed width and only shows the favicon.

My tabs have reappered!

This time I pressed the Pin Tab and the tab disappears! And it reappears once I start firefox. Your following statements have no meaning for me. I have never seen a 'small fixed width'. Never seen favicon. Sorry.

'Note that if the tab isn't pinned that you see "Pin Tab" in the right-click context menu. Once you have pinned the current tab then "Pin Tab" changes to "Unpin Tab". A pinned tab has small fixed width and only shows the favicon.'''''''

This doesn't happen in my case. </blockquote>

Can someone solve my problem. I cannot get rid of my Pinned Tab! (those who wish to help me please check the earlier conversation) 1. I have already refreshed Firefox 2. Tabs keep coming back 3. I never get to see 'Unpin Tab' option at all! 4. When I right click a Tab I only see "Pin Tab' option. 5. When I press the 'Pin Tab' option the Tab itself disappears. 6. But the Tabs reappear when I restart Firefox.
