I dont want firefox to remember my logins so that checkbox is unchecked, but ff remembers it anyway. When i login in my gmail account, and close ff, then open it again, then tipe in gmail, it automatically open my gmail account. It is the same with facebook and any other sites that request login. When i check saved logins, there is none of them listed. The same pronlem appears on two different devices- laptop running win 7, and desktop running ubuntu 16.04

Chosen solution

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:

  • you can create an "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now": Exceptions

When you remove the cookies from websites then this makes websites forget about you.
