how to stop synchronizing email on server

more options

When I delete messages on my server it will delete them on my computer. I do not want this to happen how do I stop it? I'm trying to clean up space on my server and it keeps deleting the emails on my home computer when it synchronizes is there some way to prevent this from happening? I did uncheck the keep messages for this account on this computer but it still did not help what do I do to stop this

Chosen solution

You might want to Google IMAP vs POP. That is how IMAP email works. It is server based.

You can create folders under the Thunderbird Local Folders account and move messages there. Local Folders is on your drive and not the providers server.
