Could you check whether they are visible in the Library window? You can open that using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • "Show All Bookmarks"

In the left pane, click Bookmarks Toolbar. Then the contents of the bar should be displayed on the right. I think you can remove a separator using right-click > Delete (but be careful not to delete a bookmark).

In case you need to "Undo" you can press Ctrl+z or use the "Organize" menu in the Library window.
