Calendar wont sync. Can't dismiss/delete events. Get popup "this item has recently been changed" loop.
Good morning! I need some help...
I have one event from last week that seems to have caused the "logjam." I can't delete it. My Thunderbird calendar won't sync with Google anymore -- items in T-cal won't share to G-cal and vice versa. I have 8 reminders that I can't dismiss or snooze. When I try, I get a pop-up window that states, "this item has recently been changed on the server. Submitting your changes will overwrite the changes made on the server," with options "submit my changes anyway" or "discard my changes and reload." Neither choice stops the reminders pop-up. I did disable the calendar and lightening and then re-install. Same issue.
Any advice?
Thanks! Rachel

Once again right-click the troubled Google Calendar - Properties Make sure 'Read-only' is not checked.

Any ideas for fixes? thanks!
You can try to unsubscribe from your Google Calendar in Lightning. Then restart Thunderbird, and re-create the Google Calendar.
Hi Christ1, thanks for responding! By "unsubscribe" do you mean that I should disable or remove the Lightening add-on? I've just poked through all the tabs on the Lightening options and can't find an unsubscribe option.
thanks again, Rachel

No.

Open the Calendar tab in Thunderbird, so that you do see the list of your calendar(s) in the left pane. Right-click the troubled Google Calendar - Unsubscribe Calendar
Hi Christ1,
Okay, got it! Tried that. Clicked/unsubscribed Google calendar. Shut down Thunderbird. Shut down computer. Restarted computer. Restarted Thunderbird.
11 reminders still pop-up! They won't dismiss. Although now, I don't get the pop-up window loop that states, "this item has recently been changed on the server...." When I click to "dismiss all" or try to X out the window, it just refreshes to the same 11 reminders.
Do you have additional advice or fixes for me to try?
thank you for helping me!! Rachel

Dear Christ1,
Ta DAH! That worked. Actually, I did NOT have "read-only" checked, but I DID have "show reminders" checked. Once I unclicked that, and restarted, the calendar works.
thank you sooooooo much! Rachel
