In a recent computer crash, I lost all the messages in local folders. How do I back up these folders?

A Microsoft update crashed my computer and the OS (W10) had to be reloaded. All my files, photographs and documents survived, programmes had to be reloaded; but I lost all my Local Folders in Thunderbird. The messages in the InBox survived. I should have backed up these folders, and will now do so, but how?

I just wanted a simple guide to backing up my local folders. Since the computer crash, I have repopulated these folders and do not wish to lose them again

If copying one file is not simple enough for you I do not know what else to suggest.
