I refreshed FF today and the above unwanted behavior happens.

Each time I click home (FF immediately goes there) yet another blank tab opens with it. Compared the settings with my lap top set up the same way. There, no extra tabs open. How do I turn off getting new blank tabs. Thank you!

You can check the home page setting.

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols, so make sure that there isn't a '|' appended at the end of the home page.

  • about:config => browser.startup.homepage
