Receiving an email happened only after i have pressed "get messages" a couple of times a few minutes after the email has been sent. after talking to tech support of my ISP we worked out the receiving issue. When sending an email, everything works as it should, it shows up in the sent folder and all the SNMP settings are correct (another check made by the tech support) yet none of the messages get through. even when sending an email from myself to myself it does not go through. I tried sending an email from my online ISP mail to the thunderbird on my computer but it doesn't send either.

Where or what is your ISP doing with those messages then? AS you say they are sending without error. Perhaps you ISP tech support can check their logs and determine exactly what they are doing with your outgoing mail after they receive it.

What ISP is it?

more options

the problem is that the messages do mot reach the server at all, but there is clearly a link between because messages are received

bezeqint is the ISP

I restarted in safe mode and it did not help. We also disabled firewall. Very frustrating!
