I accidentally deleted all of my Firefox data when installing Kaspersky Free Antivirus. I was able sign back into my account, and then could restore my bookmarks. However, none of my saved passwords are there, and I can't figure out how to get them back.

Hi, You will Have issues with Kaspersky as you just did. Also blocks certificates at times so if get errors know it is that.

You can not get your passwords back, lucky you got the bookmarks.

I would guess your talking about Sync. If not there, not there.

are in :

  • bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
  • bookmark backups: compressed .jsonlz4 JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
  • logins.json (passwords) and key4.db (58+) or key3.db (57 and older) (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
  • if you only have key3.db then make sure to remove an existing key4.db

fyi for the future as Sync does not replace :
