Hi

I've been using Thunderbird for 18 yrs......Upgraded from Thunderbird 52.9.1 and noticed Thunderbird 60.2.1 won't save templates after you press [SAVE-AS] button, this problem's been around since version 60 and still hasn't been fixed.

So will have to uninstall 60.2.1 and install 52.9.1 which doesnt have these problems.

Can Thunderbird's programmers please fix this bug in 60 and 60.2.1.

Thanks

I don't see this issue in TB 60.2.1/W10. File/Save As/Template saves messages to the Templates folder, which is automatically created if it doesn't already exist, and is consistent with the Templates setting in Account Settings, Copies & Folders.

Perhaps you have templates stored in Local Folders or an IMAP Templates folder that is unsubscribed?

I'm using Windows 7 pro 64 bit and it is a huge issue.

I don't have this issue with TB 52.9.1 that works perfectly but the second I upgrade to TB 60 or 60.2.1 the problem happens.

I don't use IMAP.

What does - templates stored in Local Folders - mean and how can I tell if templates are stored in them ?

How can I unstore templates in local folder ?

When I backup TB I copy and paste the profiles folder to another hard drive and if I need to restore all my emails and settings I copy the backed up profile folder back to its original location on my C drive.

As mentioned above, look at the Drafts & Templates section of Copies & Folders in Account Settings to see where the Templates folder is defined. Since your accounts aren't IMAP, all of the mail folders are only on your computer, either as a subfolder of the account or of Local Folders.

For backup purposes, it's easier to copy the Thunderbird folder instead of just the profile folder:

I tried that in 60 and 60.2.1. it saves a copy of that email to Templates on my PC but after I press send and the e-mail is sent, that saved e-mail in my templates folder is deleted by TB 60 and 60.2.1.

This is a bug please fix this problem.

I can't reproduce your experience, i.e. templates are not deleted after a message made from a template is sent. What you describe looks more like normal behaviour for drafts.

But if you believe it is a bug, report it on Bugzilla.

I'm not lying, So what I do I say on Bugzilla as I need to keep it short and to the point.

In the mean time I'll stick with TB 52.9.1
