Why do my new messages only load on startup. I have various imap email accounts and all of a sudden messages do not load automatically anymore.

more options

We have various imap email accounts set up on 3 computers. All of a sudden new email messaged don't load automatically any more. We have to close Thunderbird and then restart it for the messages to appear.

None of the settings have changed and we do receive them correctly on the various phones and on our webmail, but not on the computers with Thunderbird.

I have started Thunderbird in safe mode, disabled and deleted add ons and also disabled AVAST anti virus software, but this does not make any difference.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I did try that as well. However since then all of a sudden it worked again, so maybe there was a bug in either Thunderbird or the anti virus software. Either way, problem solved.
