I cannot get back on my email account. I tried changing my password as I did not know what it was,I followed instructions on her as to reseting password and deleted all and now cannot get back on

Your email password is administered with your email provider. You cannot change the actual password with Thunderbird. After working with your provider to get a password that works and you remember you can use it to access your email using Thunderbird.
