Prevent new windows losing pinned tabs?

more options

Hi. Is there an option to prevent closing Firefox losing all my pinned tabs if I close Firefox windows in the wrong order?

I'd like to use pinned tabs is to keep tabs and their scroll positions across sessions, but I lose mine continuously simply because I accidentally close my FF windows in wrong order (original window not last - very easy to do!).

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim, is this on Windows? If you accidentally close a window you meant to keep, but Firefox is still open, you can restore it using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+N
  • menu button > Library > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows

(Assuming it wasn't a private window.)

But if you are closing windows to exit out of Firefox, I suggest using the Exit command from the menu, either:

  • menu button > Exit
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

That way you don't have to worry about checking which window will be last.
