I just did an update to 78.9.0. I don't know what it was before, but the previous version wasn't more that a month old. I have lost all my emails. I know there in the "profile" folder, but Thunderbird is not recognizing them. If I downgrade to a previous version, will that restore things as they were? Or should I do a total System Restore to a previous date? I've attached a screenshot of what I have now. I've never seen that screen before with any other version. HELP!

Sorry, I put the wrong version in the title. It's 78.9.0. I updated from 68.12.1 When I look in Help/Troubleshooting Information and "open folder" next to profile folder, the correct profile is there. If I do a search '%appdata%\Thunderbird\Profiles\' it's there where it should be. I'm thinking this new version is not seeing it...?

Try Help/Troubleshooting, about:profiles, and see if you can launch the other profile besides the one that is current and empty.

There's only one and it is not empty. I can read emails in the 'Mail' sub-folder with Notepad. It's all there, but Thunderbird can't seem to connect with it.

With TB closed, copy the mbox files (large files, no extension, named after folders) that you can read in Notepad, into Mail/Local Folders in the profile, then restart TB and look under Local Folders in the Folder Pane.
