When I type into the find bar, it doesn't search for the term on the page. I don't get any response from typing into the bar, it doesn't find the term even when I know it's there nor do I get a "term not found" message. I've tried with all options checked and unchecked.

If settings like "Whole Words" and "Match Case" are unchecked then Find (Ctrl+F) should work.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
