PC has Windows 10, I keep it updated, Thunderbird automatically updated from 78 to 91 recently. It works as far as I’ve noticed except for two problems:

1) Every time I close it, after a couple of minutes a pop-up window says TB has crashed & I let it send the crash report. Checking Task Manager after a normal closing with “X” or Exit shows two or three instances of the TB process (not App) running for maybe 30 seconds till they disappear & the crash message window appears within a second or two.

2) I use, or used, MyPhoneExplorer (MPE) with latest 1.9.0 version to update my Samsung GS8+ phone calendar to match the TB Lightning calendar. The two devices appear to connect over Wifi & but a few seconds after selecting the calendar sync comes the window reading “Loading entries from Thunderbird failed!”. No changes take place on the phone. TB Add-ons show no problem with the MPE add-on, it is enabled. I try restarting TB in Troubleshoot Mode, which disables add-ons, but again Task Manager showed three TB processes & then the crash message. When I start TB again it is in normal mode, not Troubleshoot Mode. Browsed the help forums but I don’t see a solution or am not looking in the right place. Any help will be appreciated.

OK, I found a list of crash IDs. This is the last one: bp-6bcb6977-6f0f-463f-9dd6-090560211015

This is similar to the crash reported here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1353684

Instead of testing in TB safe mode, remove the 3 add-ons listed in the report: MPE, Manually sort folders and Add-on Compatibility.

Is the calendar on your phone a Google calendar? They can be synced to TB without add-ons.

One of two problems are now solved. Removing the three add-ons fixed the crash problem. I tried reinstalling the MPE add-on. It doesn't work & the crashing resumed so I've removed it again. I've not used Google calendar or any others that aren't resident on my devices. If there's a way to get my PC calendar onto my phone (Samsung GS8+) quickly & easily I'd really appreciate advice.

What is the calendar app on the phone? You might be able to export a local calendar in TB to ics (iCalendar) format and import it on the phone, but that wouldn't sync automatically. Most people with Google accounts on Android phones will use a Google calendar and sync it with TB as mentioned above, but it works the same with any CalDAV provider. Google Contacts on a phone can be synced with TB in a similar way.

In the Samsung GS8+ Calendar under Settings it says it is version 10.6.00.7. In TB under Events & Tasks I was able to Export the calendar to a file called Home.ics. Seems like I might be halfway there. I should be able to get the file to the phone by emailing it or over Wifi but I'm not sure what to do with it to get it into the phone calendar. Sorry, I'm not the most technical person.

You will have to figure out how to import Home.ics to a Samsung calendar.

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-add-an-outlook-calendar-to-the-calendar-app/

But this will just add the Home calendar to the phone - there won't be any synchronization between the phone calendar and TB. That may be sufficient for your purposes, but if not, consider the Google calendar option.
