Hi,

I'm struggling with how to sort my many bookmarks. Not sure if a bookmark should be in a sub-directory and/or I add multiple tags. I've thought of adding them to generalized directories and then adding as many tags as needed, but am not able to search/select multiple tags in the Library window. Any pointers on what is a good way to do this?

I have things like Coding, Learning, Tools. But then also Git, PHP, Linux. I can't figure out how to sort all these :( Thanks for any input you may have.

Cheers.

I have the same battle although I do not use tags. I have rearranged my bookmarks more than once. The article linked below may help.

You can add multiple tags to a bookmark but I do not think that you can search for multiple tags.

Steps are given below- When you click on the star to bookmark a new page, a window will open to allow you to edit the name, location and add tags to a bookmark.

Tagging existing bookmarks Go to bookmarked page you want to tag. Click on the star to open the Edit Bookmark prompt. Bookmarks tags Fx89 Enter your tags in the Tags field. Reusing your tags Once you've tagged some bookmarks, you can reuse these tags:

Click the down arrow next to the Tags field. Put a check mark next to each tag you want to add to the bookmark. Reuse tags Fx89 Tagging in the Library To change tags using the Library window:

Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage Bookmarks bar at the bottom. In the Library window, open the folder where you saved the bookmark. Select the bookmark you want to edit. The bottom portion of the Library window will display information about the bookmark. Add or remove tags by editing the Tags field or using the down arrow to add or remove check marks for existing tags.

Searching with Tags Just type into the address bar. Firefox will include bookmarked pages with tags that match your search.

Using Tags to organize your Library To access your tags in the Library:

Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage Bookmarks bar at the bottom. On the left side of the Library window, click the arrow next to the Tags item. The list of tags will expand. Click on a tag to show what bookmarks are associated with it. Double click on a bookmark in the list to open it in Firefox.

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for the information. However none of it covers my question about filtering by multiple tags. I do know how to use the tagging system and how to search by tag, it's just not possible to do so with multiple tags at the same time.

I've added a feature request and hope to one day see this available.

Have a great one, Sergio
