Gah your tab crashed happening on version 107 frequently. Very annoying and I have gone through FFX Refresh. NO Change. Windows 10 64bit. Malwares is enabled and I have Norton 360 running. There don't seem to be any solutions listed even though more than 42 posts having this problem, some since level 88! I usually have about 4 tabs open including Google calendar and Google contacts. Sometimes selecting a link from Thunderbird email just results in a blank page with the correct URL showing but page loading not completing. At other times clicking a link in one tab results in a new tab that then hangs the same way. At that stage, clicking on the other open tabs (Calendar etc) gives the Gah message. The only way to recover seems to be to stop and start FFX. Clicking on the buttons in the error message (Close Tab / Restore Tab) does nothing at all.

A solution would be welcomed.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

IDs here. There doesn't seem to be a report for today, and I got another crash when I clicked on About:Crashes the first time - the tab hung and other tabs got the Gah message.

If your crash doesn't happen in Troubleshoot Mode, it is most likely because an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration is causing the crash. Follow the steps in Troubleshoot extensions, themes, and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems to determine the cause.

The only extension I'm using is Malaware as required by my online Bank. I have done a FFX refresh. The problem persists: I log in to my bank using a private window. Today, while there I clicked on the bank's page to download a bank statement. That opened a second private tab from which the download of a pdf occurred - OK. However, I could not return to the 1st private tab and I could not close the download tab either. So the only way I could log off from my bank was to terminate FFX. That is veryimpolite. So there is a hang condition somewhere in here as well as the Gah problem which effectively also results in a hang - even thogh the Gah message implies a crashed tab.

I have just opened another tab [ C:\Users\jones\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\22r8pfuo.default-1670423019115 ] to see if there is another crash dump to send by way of helpful diagnostic. That tab is now handing. So I certainly hope that the post button below works!

It did! the other tab is still hanging.

So I killed FFX and just restarted and the handing tab {file:///C:/Users/jones/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/22r8pfuo.default-1670423019115} now works. THis time I used about:crashes and there is no new crash report!

Additional help and a solution still welcomed.

I have renamed the files places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old and restarted FFX.

No joy! Still getting Gah error mesage.

It seems to occur when I have clicked on a link within a tab which results in another tab opening. Eg clicking on the details of an item in eBay. Then it seems that other tabs opened prior to opening the eBay tab hang/crash with the Gah message.

Problem still not solved after a new FFX upgrade installed over night. So I'm making Google Chrome my default browser.
