K9 Mail not syncing past emails
I'm not familiar with how all this works, but excited to learn! I was going to wait to get the mobile client for Thunderbird once they launched the "Thunderbird" version, but didn't want to wait anymore and got K9 Mail. 😅 After setting up my account, none of my previous emails came through. Is this the expected behavior? I went through all the K9 docs and didn't see a mention of this. I've also gone into the settings and used the fetch mail option and tried to refresh the feed multiple times but it just spins forever. Have closed and reopened the app multiple times. It's been over a day and I only have about 2 weeks worth of email to fetch so I figured it can't take that long to pull everything in, right? I even got an email since setting up the account but that one didn't come through either. So confused 😵💫

Figured it out! I think I was connecting to the incorrect server for IMAP and SMTP, but it's working now after setting it up again.

You did not explain what settings you have for the account, such as whether POP or IMAP.
Oh, like I said I'm still learning how all of this works so I didn't know I needed to include that. Should be IMAP, do you need the ports or anything else?
If you are not getting mail, then I suspect an error in the account settings. They should match the settings on your PC.
Yeah I would guess so but I don't see any way to figure out what the issue is. I'm just going to remove the account and start over. When I get to the email address and password section of setup in K9 Mail, am I creating a new password specific to k9 mail or using an existing password. If so, how do I know what my password is? Honestly I didnt know I already have a password and I don't have it saved in my password manager which it should have been if one was created.
I think I remember setting up a password for the desktop Thunderbird client, but I don't see a way to access or edit it in that client and like I said it wasn't saved for some reason.
Actually I think I found where the passwords are stored for Thunderbird so I'll see if I can make that work. Maybe that was the issue last time. I'll post again if this doesn't work.

I'm pleased all is ok now. :)
