Happy to see thunderbird is doing better and better recent years. I think it is now the time to add an option to allow it automatically startup in the background on system startup, which has been asked for several years. That is a really useful option, why not just implement it?

I think there are 2 ways: 1. Just automatically startup in the background on system startup and receive messages 2. Register a service in the background to receive e-mails and pop up notifications, and in this case, we don't need to add this option

The first solution may be easier to implement, but the second seems better? Anyway, thunderbird should have one of them

BTW, add an option to minimalize when click on 'close' button. I know there's an extension for this, so why not just integrate it :-)

Thanks!

Have you considered using the feedback and ideas link on the Thunderbird hep menu to submit what you consider good ideas. It will link you here https://connect.mozilla.org

Why do you not simply place a copy of the Thunderbird shortcut into the windows startup folder and have what you want now.

See the instruction Microsoft offer on placing programs in the startup folder here https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/add-an-app-to-run-automatically-at-startup-in-windows-10-150da165-dcd9-7230-517b-cf3c295d89dd

I'm doing so, but there's a bug when you try add minimized start option to it. Went to Bugzilla and found someone else met with that too. Ask here just to see if we could have this feature faster  :-) Thanks to your response!
