What do you get if you open about:newtab (or about:home) directly via the location/address bar?

I am very sorry but are you asking me to copy and paste in the adress bar "about:home or about.newtab" ? because i did this and nothing happened.

It is about:newtab with a colon, both about:newtab and about:home should open the Firefox Home page with the tiles. Don't you see the cog icon in the top right corner that allows to select what to show on the Firefox Home page?
