Thunderbird and gmail labels
Hi, I'm not good with computer speak so please answer in simple English. Also, I'm sending a picture to help me explain. The "Inbox" in my picture is what my Thunderbird says is in my gmail.com labels. Only it does not list all of them. I deleted some labels in gmail and they were also deleted in the Thunderbird list. Then I added a couple labels in gmail and only 1 is listed in Thunderbird, the other is not. I tried closing both programs and added a couple more labels in gmail, nothing in Thunderbird. How do I get Thunderbird to recognize all of the labels in gmail? Right now in gmail there are 6 labels, I doubt there will be too many more in the future. Let's see, yes Thunderbird is up to date, have a Dell computer with Windows 8.1. Yes, I know that it is old and it's what I like and am used to, so that's what I'm staying with. Thank you, Bernadine

try this: - highlight the account on main pane - rightclick and select 'subscribe' - that normally lists all labels and you can tick or untick the ones to display. (you might also check gmail online to see if the new labels are set to be hidden)
Thanks for the reply David, I turned the computer off and later when I came back, one of the folders I had added was on the Thunderbird list but not the other. It took some searching to find the "subscribe" but nothing happened when I clicked on it.
By chance I had found where gmail can be set to allow the file to be seen or hidden. All of the 6 folders were set to seen.
So I thought maybe if I delete the folder that Thunderbird wasn't finding and start over with a new folder (with the same name) and since I now know about the "subscribe" I clicked it and all 6 folders have now been found.
Yeah! Getting something to work is worth celebrating! Thanks, Bernadine
You are welcome. I was glad to assist. :)
