Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information Click on Open Containing Folder Close Firefox. Delete the file cookies.sqlite

Did you check the exceptions? Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"

You can also try to rename the file "permissions.sqlite" to permissions.sqlite.sav and delete hostperm.1 (if it exists, leftover from Firefox 2) in the Profile Folder to reset all exceptions (cookies, images, pop-ups).

Thanks for the response, still no google access. I tried it twice. Another issue I just noticed: under options privacy I cannot change the settings on Firefox will'. Every time I change to Remember history it treverts to the custom settings, BTW, on custom settings everything is checked

Yes I have had the same problem using firefox in ubuntu 9.04 even after upgrading to 3.6.8 using the mozilla build.

I have tried the cookies.sqlite removal etc and DNS flushing and have attempted using firefox in safe mode and it still does not work.

I fired up elinks text only browser and had no problems what so ever.
