Spam msg shows when I try to open regular email

Sometimes, when I click on a legitimate e-mail, a spam message appears, even when there is nothing in the spam folder. I erase the spam message, try to mail again and the same thing is repeated. All spam has been supposedly been permanently erased.

Wouldn't it relate, as Firefox redirects commands from one site to another? Maybe it's a Yahoo problem, but it never happens with Safari, which I also use.
