ok, firefox (and IE) do NOT play any type of sound, ive tried updating everything, ive tried just about everything, this has happened for about a week and i need this fixed, sound on everything outside firefox(and IE) such as iTunes, has sound

Check the Windows Vista volume mixer, for details see no sound in Firefox. Other parts of that article could also be relevant.

Does that happen with every plugin or only with a specific plugin?

You can right-click a player to see which is used if you do not recognize it's appearance.

none of those worked, nothing at all seems to work, ive ran all my virus software, so its not a virus, ive updated(to date) adobe,java, ect. and ive even updated plugins....NOTHING is working, the :no sound in firefox: link ive been to multiple times, that is absolutely NOT helpful in any way shape or form, im gettin to the breakin point with all of this, and this has been happenin for more then a week

Did you check in the Volume Mixer setting which output device is selected?

Did you check the settings in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices ?

there something wrong with my browsers, but my audio did come back after i removed quick time player, i think that maybe be the problem becuase i reinstalled it for itunes and now i cant hear sound
