Trying this post again in hopes of getting an answer this time I keep having this problem where Firefox is slow to react when saving images. When the problem does occur, and it does happen often, I'll either ctrl+s or right click, select "save image as" and after I click "save" I see this in the lower right "One active download (unknown time remaining)" The whole time that's showing, Firefox is slow to react. As soon as it goes away, Firefox is just fine. Why is Firefox doing this and what can I do to fix it? Also, why does Firefox re-download images to save them? Why can't it just save images by copying them from whatever cache they're stored in to display them in the browser window? I know of this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3404/ and I have it, but it's only useful when I want to save several images at once to one folder. When I want to, for example, save one image to "good artwork," the next to "wallpaper," the next to "show to family" and so on, it's cumbersome.
